AWESOME! Yeah, I'm from Dallas, TX and applied "Priority Deadline." I'm a little irritated that they took away the Early Action because I would like to have the comfort of knowing for sure of my college options. What does priority deadline mean anyway? I have an audition for their acting program on January 11th so I have to get on that this week. I made a thread elsewhere on this site about financial aid but I'm glad to see you that you started a Pepperdine only forum. Do you know anything about the scholarship given to students. I've heard good and bad things. I have a 1310 SAT, go to a college prep school and have an A avg. and all that. I also do plenty of EC's and have tons of leadership and community service. I am not particularly worried about getting in, although I could be rejected. So I wouldn't qualify for merit scholarship and I'm in that crappy upper-middle class area where my parents make too much money to get "need based" probably but my dad def isn't gonna fork out 40K a year. So if you know about how much money they give and specifically to Church of Christ kids I would greatly appreciate your insight. Thanks and this is definitely longer than I intended it to be.

I got the online portion of my application in to the admissions office but I only sent in my transcript and recs like a week ago. About when can i expect to receive a response? I'm so anxious, I want to get into Pepperdine BAD!!!!!!!!

Noone will find out until the beginning of April. It really sucks. That's the only school I really want to go to soo...ya, too bad I'll just have to be anxious for a few more months while all of my friends are getting in college. Do you know anything about their scholarships and the value of them?

What is the reasoning behind no notifying anyone until the end of march? I don't think scholarships are quite as big as they should be; the ones I have heard about aren't very much money compared to many other private schools. Anybody know anything about their business program? They are not exactly located in a city so do they have many internships and connections?

Torchi...
I heard you got deferred to Stanford. Good luck with getting in.

Thank goodness I found others who are into Pepperdine!!! lol this is my dream school, its been my #1 for 2 years now. I went to the Preview Day in November and absolutely fell in love with everything about it. I have a 3.7 and 1230 SAT so my stats are slighty below their averages. Im hoping all my extracurriculars, leadership, and involvement in my local church will help me.

is the school itself really religious, like to the point that all people do is pray, coz i'm worried about that

I wish Pepperdine was so "religious" to the point where everyone prays all the time.

good, coz i was worried that it was

yes Pepperdine is very religious, its strict but not as strict as like Wheaton. Pepperdines a dry campus and all their fraternities/sorities (they dont have frat/sorority houses, theyre more like clubs at Pepp) are also non-alcoholic. you also have to attend convocation every week and you actually get a grade depending on how many you attend per semester. lol so basically if your not comfortable with Christianity, chances are Pepperdine is not the best place for you

AsRoma, did u go to the preview day in november??

I love the school, I have nothing agaisnst christianity, but are you serious its like some haven for puritans?? Its in malibu, wow, that sucks!

yea its very religious, they made that very apparent at the preview day also....the dean and everyone stressed the importance of faith integrated in the educational experience...yes malibu is beautiful, conservative, but pretty, lol. its also very rich. But i mean its a good school and ive heard mixed reviews about it. I know some people who love it and others who hated it so much they transferred. all i know is I like the school and that its a good fit for me cuz i am looking for small private religious school in ca which is exactly wat pepperdine is, lol. and for a lot of people, its not the religious thing that they cant deal with, its the price of tuition, which sucks but o well

but there are some fun people there right?

ya i talked to some people...theyre all surfer "typical california" guys and gals.....not much of a party scene tho, just hangin out joining campus activities and going to the beach

english05 wats ur first choice school?

I really want to go to NYU

oooo thats awsome, i wanted to go to NYU at one point but i could never get in

are you from california?

I'm from England, but I live in Texas
