Can you chance me please? I'm really lost as to where to seriously consider to apply.. seeing all of my senior friends with much better stats than mine get rejected worries me. :/

I'll chance you back as soon as you comment :)

So you pretty much have maxed out stats? Max GPA (at least at my school) and max SAT. Dang.

You’re in at every UC. And a match for all of the others except maybe Princeton and Yale, which you have the stats for but you never know with them.

Yeah, you’ll get in easy to all the UCs, even Berkeley. John Hopkins and WUSTL are matches too. I think UPenn, Columbia and Duke are lowish reaches.

Yale and Princeton are reaches because well, they’re Yale and Princeton. But yeah, you do have a shot with your scores.

What do you mean by “not much else”? You’re being too modest, even self deprecating. It looks to me that they’re all pretty likely except for Yale, Princeton, and Columbia (which I could still see you get into).

Obviously, your grades are awesome and your SATs won’t be a problem. The ECs are pretty awesome too, and they definitely show passion for things related to your major. I thing you are pretty good for all those schools, but the only thing might be that for the Ivies your ECs might not really set you apart from other applicants, although they are pretty awesome. Basically, you could probably get into any of these schools, but the Ivies might be (as for most people) a bit of a reach.

Dude, everything you have is really good, and even the lower-tier ivies are probably high matches for you. “but not much else” is an understatement. The perfect SAT isn’t your highest accolade, either.

I’d say all uc’s and prolly Columbia But WUSTL is pretty tough (or maybe that’s just from my viewpoint since WUSTL hates Missouri folk) UPen and Yale and Princeton reaches.

Perfect GPA (at my school!), perfect SAT score, you’re all set aren’t you. Congratulations! I live in CA so I’m not very well-versed with the schools that aren’t UCs. D:

It’s safe to say that all the UCs you listed (Berkeley, SD, LA, Irvine) are all matches, and UCI might even be a low match. I wish I could help you with deciding with UChicago and the Ivies, but I’m just not familiar with them. :’)

Wow you’re pretty amazing! With killer scores too!:) I think you’ll get in to most/ all of the schools. But you know, admissions can be really unpredictable! Good luck!! And I think your ECs are not bad! Why don’t you apply to Stanford, it’s a beautiful school and it’s near home for you too:) by the way can you chance me back? oh and what ib subjects are you taking? Just curious

WUSTL: Match
Berkeley: Match
JHU: Match
UCSD: Low match
UCI: Safety
UCLA: Match
Duke: Reach
UPenn: Reach
U Chicago: High match (can you write stellar essays?)
Yale: Reach
Princeton: Reach
Columbia: Reach

I think all are matches accept the Ivys and Washu. With a great essay, you should get into chicago since they put a lot of weight on essays. What I do not get it, your great overall. Perfect score, good GPA, EC. I think you are going to have some great acceptances coming your way next year.

it’s a huge relief to hear all of this, but I’m still a little worried LOL. seniors that I know who were amazing (scioly national champs, Intel & siemens finalists, internships at NASA, and good grades on top of that) were rejected to UCLA and Berkeley, not to mention the Ivies and other private universities. :(

do you guys think that’s more likely due to coming from a competitive school, where the admissions officers know that high grades and test scores are typical, and ECs are usually stellar, so they expect a lot more? :/
