<p>if you start your essay with a semi-ambiguous "it" in the first sentence (referring to something that will be defined at the end of the first paragraph) and then go onto clarify it as i just stated in the parenthesis, will the reader think to him/herself what is this "it" (i think that they will) and stop reading? or will they continue to read and be okay once they realize that it was part of the style of the essay?</p>
<p>Well, it may make the readers more interested, and want to read more. But if you don't have a specific reason in mind for doing this, then I'd probably stay away from the technique.</p>
<p>well, it just is an added element of style contrary to the basic stuff everyone will be doing...it kinda builds up the suspense, so i'll keep it...BOOK ADDICT thank you so much for responding, i wasn't expecting any responses</p>
