I grew up in a third world country. My best friend had depression. In my country nobody understood depression. I gave her mental support for 3 years and later, I initiated a website and wrote about mental illness in my native language. I also volunteer active listening for depressed people in a website. Should I write my personal statement about it?
Also, I moved to US from a third world country after my sophomore year, I struggled mentally and economically, in home and in school. My peers bullied me. They said, I smell like curry. They also laughed at my poems in English class. It was all because of my race. By the end of the year, I created an International club to unify different races- the club provides math tutoring, holds assemblies to talk about personal struggles, etc.
Which topic should I write about in my personal statement?
I want to do engineering.

I’m not an expert in College applications, but I think you make an awesome work helping your friend and another people with your website.For me is a fantastic idea for your essay.
Make a complaint against these students are bother you, and if you are in English class and the teacher permit that kind of bullying, make a complaint against teacher too.

I think the international club is better. A little more upbeat.

I think you can use both thems, I suposse that international club is an evolution of your mental support work.
