I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section, but i wasn't sure where to post it.

I wanted to know if its possible to petition for 5 extra units a semester during summer. and if anyone has done so. Does someone need to approve it? and for what reason may they reject your request?

I believe you do have to petition… This would probably be something your counselor could help you with. If you don’t want to deal with the red tape, just enroll at a second CCC and take classes at both at the same time.

They’d reject your petition if you take a whole lot more than the max. Last year, I petitioned to take one more class. They just said “okay, we only reject people if they want to take 2 or more extra classes”.

You said an extra 5 units during summer…Are you sure you would want to do that? Is that a science class?

depends on the CC you are at. I go to Pierce College in LA and took 15 units during the summer but they only allow 11 so I had to petition for the rest of the units. If you have over a certain GPA (for us i think its a 3.0) they should let you do it without a problem
