So I got into both from early action last year, and ended up not getting to Cornell, so it's pretty much between these two.

Here are some pros and cons I thought of... help me in comparing the two schools?

Rutgers:
-Can only AP out of one course
-NJ location CON (NB/Camden/Newark/etc)- not fond of this as an in-stater, and Camden/Newark are awful areas.
-NJ location PRO: lots of pharm companies.
-More rigorous curriculum (can be good or bad. I want to enjoy college as much as possible but there needs to be some challenge.)
-Higher ranked 0+6 Program
-only gave me 3.5k/yr for PharmD, 10k+ for business & CAS.
-no freshman honors program

Northeastern:
-LLC Communities
-Co-op Program
-Boston location
-Didn't get into honors program (which I honestly don't understand given my stats, but w/e.)
-20k/yr scholarship, but still will cost more in the end
-Less rigorous curriculum (tradeoff: would leave me more time for stuff)

(rigor of curriculum is somewhat speculative, just from looking at the college's lists/other posts in forums)

And IDK what the attrition rate for Northeastern PharmD is, but the dropout rate for RU is something like 35%.

Northeastern is the better choice because of Co-op. Your summers are gone, but considering you get paid for interning and get hands on clinical experience so early makes up for it. You’ll have the advantage when you’re looking for jobs because of the Boston location as well. Plus, NJ is depressing.

I had the same dilemma as you, but I’m pretty much set on Northeastern. As an OOS (I live in CA), Rutger’s scholarships were really disappointing compared to the other offers I have had from the other schools I applied to. Also, I was reading on the Rutgers threads, the classes seem to be really challenging and difficult (although I do like challenges, I don’t want to spend all my time in college studying). Northeastern’s biggest strengths lie in their co-op program, which would be really useful in gaining more experience and getting connections. THe environment around NEU is a lot better in my opinion, since the surrounding areas has many other colleges and universities, so it’s easier to meet people from other colleges. Rutgers’ campus is too big and spread out; I don’t want to be taking the bus to my dorm every single day. THere’s nothing to do around Rutgers. Yes, Rutgers has the better (in rank) 6 year pharmD program, but as long as we have PharmD degrees, it doesn’t really matter where you graduate from.

YOU ARE MAKING A BIG MISTAKE!
Rutgers is a great school, especially for pharm. I’m in-state. It’s a major recruiting ground for pharm companies. My friend turned down Stanford for RU pharm. I’m not going there, but it’s a great place.
