Phi Theta Kappa

I was invited to join PTK at my community college. I was wondering if it was worth it (for transfer application purposes) to join it even if I'm probably not going to get too involved in it. Basically is the $75 app fee worth putting it on my application or not?

A million times yes. It will get you access to transfer funds specific to PTK members depending on college and it looks good on your application.

Let me put it to you this way: when you use the Common App as a transfer student, it’s the only institution it asks if you are a part of.

Absolutely yes. My school even gives automatic merit scholarships for PTK members. I know for a fact my school is not alone in that practice. $75 now could save you $2,000+ later.

Yes!
There are hundreds of transfer scholarships just for PTK students! And it looks very good on transfer and scholarship apps. Also, through PTK, at least my chapter, you can get volunteer opportunities and do a reseach project as well.
