no offense but you guys have been going on and on
shouldn't you go on AIM or something? just my opinion

sorry :) ill stop

Yeah, I was totally understanding of the whole economic divide- she shops differently because she has money! Whatever, yeah!

But yes, your posts are becoming extremely pretentious. "Omg I'm too lazy to get my own freaking clothing at Nordstroms so I make the underpaid employees pick them out for me and I have to get my friend's approval before I can buy anyyythiiiiing."

Yeah. You're not getting any kind of empathy here... Not to sound like a total jerk-wad, and while I know the previous may have given the impression of jerk-waddish-ness, its true. Until now I have not truly felt the impact of the rich stereotype, and it bothers me that I was so naive that I could keep up (or whatever I thought I was going to do) with people who can spluuurge like no one else, and keep up the pretentious facade.

That was mean. I apologise. But that doesn't mean it's not true.

Um... I never said that I made the employees pick them out for me. I said that I liked to look for my own clothes! Why is everyone attacking me? ARE you attacking me? Um... who was that post directed towards?

Senay thingslost...lol

Oh.... WHOOPS. :D Wait, are you on facebook right now? If not, i'll PM you

I'm talking to Senay... Sorry :)

I feel bad for Senay. I also don't buy expensive clothes but this is getting out of hand.

Are you ok Senay?

im fine. wow! lots of people ask the nordstrom sales people to find stuff for them, that's why they come up to you and ask if you need anything. plus, i wasn't looking for empathy, i was having a conversation with thingslost about the techniques we use while shopping, she said her mom shops for her, i responded saying that the salespeople pick stuff out for me

i need friends approval because....i was raised by a man who has absolutely no fashion sense and dresses like steve urkel (yep he pulls his pants up that high). ive worn freaky outfits before, don't wanna make the same mistake

Sorry, I didn't mean to make you feel bad... It was just getting stupid in here. O.o

oh okkkayyyy

wow
a spree for me is like A&F or Hollister ($100 MAX) and then I savor it for a loooooong time. Spoiled. I don't know how anyone that's not as rich and clueless as you can stand your personality.

But $100 dollars at A&F or Hollister is like one pair of jeans and half a t-shirt. that's not a spree....when i think of a spree, i think of lots and lots of bags.

they have alot of casual days, obvoiusly the weekends or just sunday and usually saturday or friday is casual and most schools arent that dressy, all the ones i went to, it was simple khakis of any kind and just a nice dressy shirt, i dont see anything wrong with that. i would not like wearing a full suit though, i dont know what schools do that... i think deerfield does.

$100 dollars at A&F or Hollister isn't only one pair of jeans and half a tee shirt... It's more like one pair of jeans and 3 t-shirts. And I don't know, even though I DO have the money to buy more clothes if I wanted to, I don't get the point of having so many jeans when they're like. Jeans. And besides, even if its my money I kinda feel bad after spending more than $30 when I'm shopping.

Grrrrr, I reaaaaally didn't want prep school kids to be all obsessed with spending and clothing, but I guess a lot of them really are? I mean, I loooove shopping and clothes, but I don't just blow money. I'm going to absolutely hate school if I can't find someone that isn't so... materialistic.

My idea of a "spree" is finding some amazingly cute clothes and buying whatever I want ($200 max though, I have to pay for mostly everything... ugh!). I love outlet stores because everything is so inexpensive, and there are a ton of stuff to choose from.

When I get into BS (hopefully!), my mom said that I can blow some of her money on clothing and supplies and furniture. Plus, (if I get in) she's contributing $600 towards a Macbook!! I'm working over the summer to pay for the rest. So excited... but now I just need to get in!

P.S. Senay, before you go refuting something I posted above, I DON'T CARE!! My parents just believe in earning your money, not blindly being given it, which I'm cool with. And by the way, we're not applying for FA, so don't go all cynical thinking we're poor.

I agree with you.

If you are paying for all but 600 dollars of a MacBook I suggest looking at a Dell maybe. I am not trying to dissuade you at all but I currently own a MacBook Pro (excessively so, decked out new 17in). It is really expensive, parent's promised after a long time of begging, no computer, etc., and you can get a lot more with a PC. Trust me I love Macs but if I had to pay for all but 600 I would say go for the PC, just my opinion. I'm a little scroogy about spending unless it's iTunes or MSF (M

hahahha prince

I would go Abercrombie for casual days. A lot of people find it tacky, I think if done right (not the stupid tight ripped up crap) they look ok.

For most of the time I would side with Ralph Lauren, jcrew, and Brooks Brothers. Brooks Bro's can be expensive so I would like buy the suits, ties, etc (stuff I would wear to important places) from them and by the rest from the former two.

haha, i feel so plain/un-extravagant

i go to like, aeropostale, off the wall, and bluenotes.

that's.. basically it. lol (for clothes, anyways. shoes are a COMPLETELY different story..)
a spree would be about 200 dollars? that's usually around boxing day, because my mom believes very strongly in "bargain buying".. and you know, the more you buy, the more you save! haha. okay, i'll stop now >_>
