Photography degree with less Art classes

I’m looking for a four year degree that has more classes in photography than art. Combining photography with entrepreneurial studies would be ideal. Temple has something close to this but I am hoping to expand my list.

Can you expound on what kind of photography? Commercial photography? Fine Art photography? Photojournalism?

Also are you looking for a selective school or an easier admit? Area of the country?

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I’m interested in sports, portrait and landscape photography. Anywhere in the United States and no preference on selective or easy admit.

Do you have the stats to get in a Top 20 school?

A journalism school somewhere like UNC or NYU or Columbia may have options in photojournalism which would include sports.

I think there are lots of paths to photography and lots of specializations. I know an acquaintance whose daughter did art photography at Yale. I have known a couple of photographers (people who have had long careers). One who went to Davidson and then got an internship in NYC doing commercial photography before launching his own commercial photography business and another who went to a well respected community college known for its photography program who has worked as a museum photographer for many years. Just thought of another I know who had no college training and worked for the National Park Service for many years.

RIT has a few different photography-related majors. They aren’t an art school so it doesn’t look like you need a lot of art classes but they do have some Gen Ed requirements.
