so i applied as a history major in hss. but i want to do statistics and economics at hss. how do i change this when i enroll and sign up for classes?

I’m pretty sure you will get your advisor’s information before you sign up for classes so you can ask him/her but you shouldn’t worry too much what your major is during your first semester and just take the classes you want (aside from the required core curriculars)

If you are in Dietrich (HSS), then you cannot have any major until your second semester.
I’m not sure what you mean when you say you “applied” as a history major, but from an official perspective, you will be considered undecided until you declare a major, which again cannot be done until your second semester.

Since you are in Dietrich, you can just declare any major with in the college (except for Information Systems) whenever you want. That means you could declare your primary/additional major/whatever as history or statistics whenever you want, and likewise you can change those designations whenever you want. I’m not exactly sure how economics works because it is jointly run by both Dietrich and Tepper, but I assume you could probably just declare that as your major whenever you want too.
