pictures of dorms?

does anyone have actual pictures of an actual triple..or double..in the units? i would like to have a preview of what itd be like and not have a heart attack the day i move in. thanks.

I don't have any pictures, but all I have to say it that you will NOT be disappointed with the units. 2 of the 3 are new and has good view, but smaller than the other dorms.

Unit 3's triples are different from units 1 and 2... also the corner triples are bigger than in the middle of the hall, and it's just the luck of the draw if you get put in one of those. You'll still pay the same amount as other triples. (I was in a Unit 1 triple last year)

They're pretty nice, like a small motel room. And I was in one of the crappier dorms with an awful mattress that ruined my back.

Awww, poor baby missed their down feather matress?

Hahaha, just funning ya -- those beds are -EVIL-. Prisons must have more comfortable beds.

Advice to EVERYONE: Get a bed pad (preferably something a little better than the foam one I had.) or something for your beds, because those mattresses are UNFORGIVING. I know pretty much any department store or Wal*Mart-type place sells decent bed pads that will make your stay a helluvalot more comfy.

And when you move in the dorms? Take only half of WHAT you think you need. Seriously. You can always buy more stuff later if you need it. I overpacked and it was a PAIN finding a place for everything.

In the units you get about 180-200 SQ feet to share with another or even two people. It's pretty cramped. Aside from your computer and a small box of "knick-knacks" like a radio-alarm and a desk lamp and a few personalization items (and most of this can be bought up there anyway, for cheap in the Student Store and local vendors like Futura) and your linens, don't take ANYTHING that wouldn't fit into an large hiking backpack -- i.e. more than maybe 10 days worth of clothes and one nice outfit/suit/dress, especially if you are planning on joining a frat or sorority. You will find that small loads of laundry are a lot less of a pain than three weeks worth of clothes in one wash.

Also, communicate with your roommate(s) about any nice extras you might bring like a TV, stereo, or a video game system so you don't double up and cram up your precious little space.

Clark Kerr rooms are better, but still get awfully small. My advice: Less is more. If you find out you need something, buy it up there.

Nah, this bed was essentially a bunch of tangled springs. I might as well have been sleeping on the spring itself. If I had slept on that any longer, I think it would have punctured my skin. It was glorious coming home to my goose feathers.

aim: I hear ya. Like I said, those beds are evil.

After my roommates were gone, I tested the beds in the hope that I didn't pick the only crap mattress. The mattresses on the top bunks seemed to be much worse than the one on the bottom. And still, the guy below me on the good bed was tossing and turning and rocking the bunk bed all night. Bastard. To be safe, bring a wooden board on move-in day and sleep on it until you get a decent mattress.

Are we allowed to replace the mattresses?
