I did notice one thing however, when I called before, the lady said my application was "completed" and an admissions director mentioned that she had already read my app (about 2.5 weeks ago) but on there, it says application under review. I wonder what that means.

The admission director (in your area?) may have looked at it, but others will probably see it as well. The lady you spoke with on the phone was telling you that Rice had received all the required components of the application. That and they probably won't change "under review" to anything besides accepted/defer/reject on dec 15.

I think we might get a reply by the 14th...according to my sis...she said she got a response one day before the actual date...blah its only one day earlier, but ughhhh I hate waiting =/
and there is the horror of not getting accepted and working on a million other applications...

Not only do I really want to be accepted because Rice is easily my top choice school, but a few days ago they sent out an e-mail stating that they've changed their financial aid policy - all students coming from families who earn less than $80k/year get a full ride! No loans, no work-study! Argh, it will kill me if I don't get in now. It will also save me a lot of money on application fees to other schools.

I did pretty well on SATs and the ACT (740 V/ 710 M /760 W, 700 Math II/ 710 Physics/ 760 Lit/ 770 US History, 33 ACT), have a heavy course load (11 AP and 6 IB classes from 10th to 12th), decent extracurriculars and pretty strong essays (especially the supplement essay). My GPA has a solid upward trend, but it's still somewhat weak, as is my class rank (3.63 UW, 38/319), so I'm definitely borderline for acceptance and definitely a little stressed at this point.

Actually, your parents will still probably be expected to contribute something, and you will be expected to contribute something from summer earnings - but your financial aid package will not includes loans. It's still a sweet deal, but it is not the same as a full-ride.

okay so now that we finally have gotten our logins, is anyone else having a problem seeing their financial aid requirements? I have everything for admissions and all of my test scores but nothing for financial aid. It just talks about applying for aid, no specific information about myself.

I'm gettin the same thing as pyles. I wouldn't worry about FA though atleast until you get accepted. It's probably not gonna change from "go to the rice website to find out more".

okay everyone. I just called Rice and they officially said that we will not hear a single thing until Monday, December 15, 2008 @ 5pm, no sooner. Apparently, a lot of people have been calling about it.
