Placement Exam/orientation advice?

Accepted and transferring to LSA as a sophomore for fall 2010. Accepted into honors program and will be doing that.
Worried about placement exam for french language, have taken french 101 and 102 and recieved an A+ in both, worried that I will not do well on the exam and be placed into 103 or worse 102.
Orientation on the 17th- advice on what to expect, how to choose courses, planning on double majoring in poli sci and english. not sure which to do my honors thesis in or if its possible to do an honors thesis in both?

I had taken and passed up to the equivalent of Spanish 231 and barely placed into Spanish 103. If the format for the two tests is the same, which I would guess it is but you should check, half of it is an auditory activity and the other half is reading. It’s multiple choice and there is a penalty for wrong answers. If the courses you took are similar to the ones here I wouldn’t worry about it too much, it doesn’t seem most people have as much trouble as I did. Did you receive transfer credit for 101 and 102?

I got overexcited about all the course offerings since they are better than at my old school and signed up for three 300 level poli sci courses my first semester, and have been informed five months later that one of the classes I took was the hardest in the department. I don’t recommend doing that. Take it easy your first semester, don’t take 18 credit hours, and try and mix up the types of classes you are taking. Each of those poli sci classes had 100-200 pages of reading to have done per class period, which was a little bit unrealistic for me at the time. Now I try to mix in some science or something else so I get to do more than just read for hours on end once in a while.
