What kind of placement tests do you take during BCT? english, math?

Tests I recall my basic taking were calculus, algebra, chemistry, foreign language. Note, study up on algebra -- some did well on calculus, but bombed algebra, and had to take a remedial algebra course.

It pays to do well on the chemistry, especially if you took AP Chem. A good score can mean you take one semester of lab course, instead of 2 semesters of chem.

comp sci is another one (although my memory has faded in the past 4 years)

I recommend trying the comp sci test even if you've never taken a related class. A lot of it concerns general computer knowledge. For example, they might ask you if 64 megabytes of RAM and a 500 MHz processor would be typical for a new computer. Most of you know that it would not. Also, there are a lot of logical puzzles that can be solved without specific knowledge of a programming language. I have a friend who validated it without ever taking a comp sci class. If you can, that's just one less class on your schedule and a little more flexibility. Of course if you want to, you can still take it.

Anyone have working links to the practice tests? The previous link that was posted gives me a "forbidden" error message ( http://atlas.usafa.af.mil/dfms/Academics/Placement/exam_prep.htm )

There are two links to the math placement test and neither of them has been working for a couple of weeks. I put in a message to the webmaster, but haven't gotten a reply. Surely, they'll get this straightened out.

Does anyone know of any practice tests for subjects other than math on the AFA website? Like English and other subjects.

The only placement test online is the foreign language one.

Look into the AP exam study guides as a review for other subjects.
