placement testing????

Both of those rooms are lecture halls. The poctors will probably just stand up front, but it’s lecture hall style, pretty cramped together with small areas to write on.

They usually just stay in the front. Although I don’t know why anyone would even think about cheating since the test is determining your placement in certain class levels. You don’t want to be placed in calculus if you suck at Pre-calculus.

I want to take a language so I have to call them to set up a test for that language?
Because I either want to study French or Chinese…can I do both?
Will I have to take the placement tests for both?

Damn, its probably going to really hot in there.

The thing about the language . . . I think if you want to begin learning a language and had no prior knowledge you will not have to take the test. The reason I say this is because the other day when I was registering for classes, they allowed me to choose “elementary french” despite the fact that I DID NOT take a placement test for it.

It might be hot, yet I never had classes at the Hill center or at SERC, but I guess you should bring bottles of water to drink??? It could help. And don’t get too nervous. You should feel relaxed and just try your best.

Nah, I’ve had lots of classes in both of those buildings, and they are air conditioned. Most of the buildings on Busch do have AC, unlike the College Ave. classrooms.

After reading all this (I’m a first year engineering student, last name starting with S, and i placed out of english):
I should sign up for placement testing:

May 9th -
R-Z: Hill Center, Room 114, Busch Campus

11am to 12noon
Level II Math Test (Mandatory for all)

You should just show up. There is no need to sign up for anything. (Also, bring a map. I thought I could just find it, but my friend had to lead me there.)

yeah, you don’t need to take the placement test for a language that you have not learned before. and during the lunch break, right before the pre-calc section, they’ll give you directions to go get your pic taken for your RUID. you can also do this on academic planning days, which is what I did since I looked like a mess when I took the placement test.

In order to place into PreCalc, you need to do good on computation/elementary algebra?

In order to place into Calc, you need to do good on Precalculus

Is it true that if you have taken the two English Comp courses at a community college, you don’t have to take the English placement test?

of course you don’t have to take the English placement test if you took the equivalent courses at a community college!! what kind of a question is that?

I think that is a reasonable question to ask. I know some colleges still require you to take their own classes to make sure you have learned all the subject matter.

umm hypothethically speaking…

what happens if you’re enrolled as an engineering student but you took the placement test on the wrong date?

^^^

i have the same question
