is it possible to place out of a subject (math or spanish) if you score high enough on the placement test? i have heard different things from different people. I am going up for orientation on monday so i was curious and that is why i wrote need answer fast. thanks

yea i placed out of spanish. For regular math, i dont think so... maybe if you take the calculus placement though.

any idea what kind of score u need to place out of spanish

It's not that hard if you're in spanish 3-4ish.

About 1/3 of the choice was true/false or 2
answer choices lol. Then there's 10 stories
that you have to read and answer questions
based off them.

kk thanks for the info...ive been in spanish all 4 years of high school so i should be fine

Here is a description of the Spanish placement test that is given at IU orientation.
Spanish Placement Test

My son had eight trimesters of spanish and tested into S275 with a score of 644 (the scale runs 200-800). According to the web page, on the placement test three years of high school is equal to the first two semesters of high school Spanish. However, if you are strong on grammar (which my son is, with a not so extensive vocabulary), then you could probably get S250 (fourth semester) or higher. He did a week or so of grammar review before the test, and that probably helped his score.
