I plan on going to business school to pursue an M.B.A. I don't know what I want to do yet in terms of a career (i.e. finance analyst, accountant, etc.) I've heard that business schools don't care about what your undergrad major is--job experience is more important. That's great--but when seeking a job do employers care what you majored in? Will majoring in a certain field help you get a job?

I would like to major in something other than business for undergrad, but I don't know if this is a good idea. I heard that many business classes you will take again while studying for your M.B.A. If this is the case, will it be okay to major in something completely unrelated, i.e. English Literature or Political Science? (Will this help me at all when finding a job?) I'm assuming there are other advantages to majoring in business and pursue an M.B.A. as well--what are these? (Other than the ease of re-taking a class you took before.)

(I would love to major in Political Science. However, it is completely irrelevant to my career path and I will never find a job in politics. I'm a terrible orator. If it will somehow help my prospects when finding a job in business--great! If it hinders, then I may as well major in business or economics.)
