What to major in undergrad if you plan to get your MBA.

I have heard from a couple of sources that it is better to major in something other than business in your undergrad, such as liberal arts, if you plan on going to get your MBA. Apparently this would show diversity to future employers, and show that you are experianced in different areas that would help you in the real world, rather than strictly business majors all the way through.

Of course, this goes with the idea that you plan to get your MBA after undergrad, taking care of the business part of your education.

Your major isn't as important as the quality of your work experience post graduation. When you go to a Harvard or a Yale, you could pretty much major in anything as you'll have opportunities to get jobs with IB/Consulting firms just from the fact that you attend those schools. If you go to a less "prestigious" school, then major in whatever has the best recruitment (acct, finance, econ, engineering)

It is smart, however, for one to get exposure to business courses suuc as accounting, econ., finance and management while in undergrad. to see if an MBA program is desirable.
