I just got rejected (actually waitlisted, but it's pretty much the same thing) from a science research program I really wanted to go to this summer. What else can I possibly do? I still want to seem like I've actually been trying to do science-related things when I apply to college... I want to major in biomed engineering.

I'm looking to go into the medical field... that's why I'm volunteering at my local hospital for the summer.

I'm looking into the mathematics field. What can I do this summer?

Colleges look for summers filled with hours of XBox & cases of Mountain Dew. So just relax on the couch with two guys, a girlfriend, and the pizza delivery man.

haha sounds great morality.

i'm interested in BME/med school. I got into PA gov school for health care today, which is awesome. I'm also doing some volunteer work at a youth summer camp for a couple weeks or so. So yeah, when all's said and done I'll get maybe 2 weeks of vacation, which will surely be spent completing summer assignments for school.

Need money for college :) Otherwise I'm going to enjoy myself and go to the beach, hang out with friends, etc.

Traveling and working for my uncle in ID.

I will be working at a local amusement park, yay! I should probably visit some colleges sometime too. Doubt that my AP English teacher will assign anything...because he's a waste. Yep, that's about it.

Lucky you... I have to read 3 books with annotations over the summer for AP English.

I'll probably get a job...and do like 6 books worth of summer reading (AP Euro, AP Econ, possibly AP English) AND take accounting or finance or something over the summer, so I can write about it in my college essay and how it "confirmed my interests in business" and what not (I want to go into business mainly because of what it's not: it's not science and I despise science with every flaming passion I have in my heart.)

My Plans
- work at the movie theatre (even though I hate that job) because I need spending money for college.
- hopefully get an internship at the EPA.

Lame...:(

I want to get an internship at Morgan Stanley, but it's probably not happening...I guess I'll just settle for cashier at a Golf Course pro shop or waiter at an insanely expensive restaurant. :(

My mom used to have a fairly high up position at the EPA so I'm hopin' she can pull some strings

probably go to a business program at UPenn; if I'm rejected, i'll work at grandparents' funeral home

probably do some science related thing.. or just read random books seeing how i got waitlisted at SSP and no teacher wants to write recs for me lol

Bah, hopefully i'll go to gov. school. I have lots to keep myself occupied even if I don't...

Let's see...I'm relaxing hangout out with friends, going to see my cousin in New Jersey and training with my coach for xc. It should be a nice summer.

dude ziggy, I got in too dude.
check out my post on this forum about it. trying to bring together as many people as I can that are in PA and got into gov school.

I'm going to Cornell's Summer College program for a 3-week study. Then I plan on getting a job around town. Maybe even get some volunteer hours in as well. Then, of course, I have band practices throughout the summer and band camp for a week at the end of August.

Martha, when you say "lots" do you basically mean this site?
