Do you know of anyone who has gotten into Notre Dame with excellent grades, stellar essays and ECs, but lowish SAT's? (1830). (Who are not recruits or URMs.)
Thanks for your help!

I hope you have some serious Catholic EC's because that is what could save you. Is there anyway you can retake those SAT's or did you apply EA? Or, try the ACT.

Thanks for the response, ANDRW313. I am actually asking for my D. She is a dual citizen with Ireland, raised solely by a single mother, STRONG Catholic identity and education. This was her best score from 2 SAT sittings, and a 26 from 2 ACTs. A brilliant writer and excellent grades, just not "'standardized" tests. Also, outstanding golfer, but just under the "recruit" scores. Any chance?

There's an outside chance. If she's given up on the tests then just focus on writing some darn good essays. Is she considered international? If she is, and you don't need financial aid, that can help.

Thanks again, ANDRW. You seem to know a bit about UND. Did you go there?

I did not but I am obsessed with this whole college admissions thing and know a lot about all of the top 50 colleges and their admissions. A friend of mine got in there last year.

Sunshadow, how is that overall SAT score broken down? If she's lower in math, let's say, and doesn't intend to pursue math or science as majors, she might be okay. On the other hand, if the lower score is in CR, that may present more of an obstacle.

She won't be doing math or science, and that was her lowest score - 580. CR was 600 and writing was 650. Not high by Notre Dame standards, but I am hoping the Irish citizen Catholic athlete thing may help, with stellar essays, grades, and ECs. We can dream, can't we?
