Hi, I'm a Canadian citizen, but I moved to the States in the middle of tenth grade.

I know Mcgill focuses a LOT on Numbers are stuff... and I'm really confused about my GPA...

SAT: CR: 680, MATH: 780, WR: 780 (Total: 2240)
SAT II: 710 Math I, 700 US History, 610 Biology (just retook today! but i dont think did much better lol)
APs: 8 APs
ECs: Pretty decent
My GPA WEIGHTED is a 3.83 I think it might've gone up slightly...
but my unweighted GPA is pretty low i think.

So is Mcgill going to look at weighted or unweighted?
And my overall transcript isn't that great... I have a fair share of Bs and As
and in my senior year right now, I have a C+ in AP Calculus right now...

So what are my chances of getting in? Are my SAT scores going to partially make up for my grades?

Your chances are quite high. Your SATs are quite good, possibly too good. 8 APs really is sufficient. ECs don't matter, unless you are applying for a scholarship (and since you are Canadian, I recommend it), and 3.83 is very good for McGill. Canada is more academic, so, send in your AP predictions (your school should) and get rid of that C+ (which in AP Calculus AB or BC, should not be a problem) and hopefully I will meet you in McGill.

TBH, in my own biased opinion, make McGill your safety. I made the mistake of overestimating McGill, and I thought that it was harder to get in than how it actually was. Anybody who has experience in the Canada US UCAS application process will know that the US is overly competitive - and thus insanely difficult to get in, sans good ECs and SATs. However, just as long as you have good grades, you will be fine for Canada. If I were you, I would go high, like quite high, but only if you want to.

Btw, are you from Quebec? Why McGill?

Wow!
THank you so much for you feedback! :)
and yes, i will try my best to get rid of that C+ in calc :P

Nah, I'm actually originally from Toronto, Ontario Canada
I visited Montreal a long time ago, and i LOVED it there :) very beautiful
plus, my one of my best friend's mom went to that school and she told me loads of good stuff about it :)
it's actually probably my first or second choice school right now :)
commute is also easy for me because i will be living between toronto and Massachusetts (where i live now) so i'll be close to my friends and family.

I was really worried because Mcgill has such a good reputation here... like ALL my teachers were like, "WOW Mcgill? GOod luck ..."
Thanks again for all your feedback :)
haha and yes, hopefully i will see you there :D
