I think I will mention that I had many extra curricular activities that it might have taken a minor effect on my grades. Yet the problem was solved because it has helped me strengthen my time management skills as well as helping me focus on what is important, which is helping others by volunteering and taking leadership roles.

So I made a list of colleges I wanted to go to. I also made safeties, matches, and reaches in my own opinion. So let me know on what you guys think.

Safeties:
Stony Brook
Penn State
Albany
Queens

Matches:
Binghamton
Geneseo
Syracuse
North Eastern
Boston University

Reaches:
Boston College
Brandeis
UMich (lived in Michigan for 12 years, so will focus a lot on that on my essay)
UCLA
North Western
NYU

Which school do you think should be arranged in safeties/matches/reaches? And which schools do I have a change to get into? Advanced thanks once again!

Bump bump bump :)

I’m a n00b user for CC. What DOES “bump” mean?

Anyone chance me please?
Thank you

From the reach category, you have a very high reach schools considering your current stats. Although I encourage you to give it a shot, you should still re-evaluate your preference (location, cost, course of study, programs, weather, etc.) and cut down two to three schools from the list. Good luck.

anyone else have any inputs?

What are my chances on BU?

Pretty good chances at BU. I agree with RealM, your average of 87 and 28 ACT are going to take you out of consideration at a lot of those reach schools, like BC, UCLA, NYU. Especially BC is a major reach in my opinion, the admissions counselor who came to my school said that they are looking for geographic diversity and thats it extremely difficult to get into BC with lower test scores if you live so close.

Firstly, do you think its a better idea to add other clubs such as clubs that I join for fun? Like breakdance, gaming club, etc.?

The reason is because I don’t take any positions in those clubs, I just go for fun. Second its not a academic club, so is it better to leave it out or in?

Second, what should I work on? What can help me improve my chances into my reaches?
Aim for a higher act? My average will most likely stay at 87-88 (3.5 gpa)

Lastly, do colleges average the whole 4 years? (first semester for senior not second)?
Or only the first 3 years (fresh-junior)? Because I herd mixed answers. Some say colleges look at your first 3 years and consider first of your senior semester, some say the transcript has your first senior semester along with the 3 years. However my rank was averaged on how well I did on my freshman-Junior. I’m planning to do really well this year so I wanted to know if colleges see it and average it equally as the other 3 years.

Thank you

Any advice/input?

thank you

bumpity bump bump
