How do your SAT scores breakdown? (I’m an Old so I’m more familiar with Math & Verbal and can compare them to my peer group) And what school are you applying to?

Essays matter a lot at BU and can bump up someone with lower scores. I can’t definitively say you’ll get in, but depending on school & essays, you might have a shot. And how did you answer the “why BU” question?

Hi, unfortunately my math was terrible, 540 and reading was 610, and writing was highest at 630. I applied to BUs school of business. I answered the why BU essay by explaining how BU is a primary college choice for me and talked a bit about the positive aspects i like about BU and explained how I believe that BU was the only college for me that would form me into a successful leader and entrepreneur. I’d say low match… I knew kids with scores a tick higher than that that got in, though they have higher GPAs. You might end up deferred to CGS, which wouldn’t be terrible if you really want to go to BU.

I agree with proudterrier, low match. If you get in, make sure to call them up and ask to change schools. You can easily change schools before you start your freshman year. If you apply to CGS and get in, call and request the school that you want to go into.

By all means, let the BU admissions office know that you are interested in CGS. You have a good chance of getting in, and if you do, you should be able to enter your chosen field as a junior.

@eldraque‌ @orangebanana‌ hi, so if I get rejected from the BU school of business do I still have a chance of getting accepted into their general science school? (If I get deferred from the business school do I automatically get considered for the general school?) if I do get rejected from the business school but accepted to the general science school I don’t mind, I will do my best to speak to them about putting me into The business school but I don’t mind waiting till junior year
*** do I have to call to let them know I would also like to be considered for college of general studies, or will they automatically consider me if I get rejected from BU School of Bus.

I actually just spoke to the admissions office and the lady said I had already asked to be considered for the CGS if rejected from the school of management :slight_smile:
