Please chance this international kid for Berkeley and other schools!

Some universities like Berkeley and Stanford do not require LoRs…

I am hoping to get a regent’s and Chancellor’s scholarship there! What are my chances for it?

Would they check my EC’s? Would I have to send my certificates to them?

An answer will be appreciated.

Research does not require connections. An exceptional friend of mine worked on extending the Hodge Conjecture on his own. He might just get a letter from some professor, but the main thing is his paper!!! :)

And, how do you have a GPA?

Research papers?

Oh! I forgot my 2 EC’s ,
Representing school in DRAMAS…!!! (6 years)
School Discipline Prefect!
100 hour community service for poor animals.

Would UC ask for these certificates?

I think it’s self-reported.

You have a good chance!!

and for Stanford?

Not as good as for UC Berkeley…
So umm see.

UC Berkeley - low reach
Stanford - reach

Noone can ever predict about Stanford because of the extremely high selectivity. It’s a reach for everyone, sometimes (quite rare though) International Olympiad medallists as well.

112 is not a score that necessitates to retake the TOEFL…

@HopetoStanford - Which school?

As per my seniors school plays a major role if you are applying from India
If you want to be anonymous PM me

Looks good, dude. ECs aren’t amazing, but your scores are. I’m Indian too, maybe you could chance me back?
I’m assuming you aren’t applying for Fin. Aid.
1- UC Berkeley-High Match/Low Reach.
2- UCLA-Match
3- UPenn-Reach
4- Stanford-Reach(for everyone)
5- CalTech-Reach(")
6- Cornell-Lower Reach than the others
7- MIT-High Reach
8- UChicago-Low/Mid Reach(Low if your essays are good, mid if they’re alright. High if they aren’t any good at all)
9- GeorgiaTech-Low Match
10-Princeton-Reach(for everyone)

I’d keep a safety or two if I were you.

Thanks Catria , mathsoul and StanfordMania ! I’m keeping safeties as De Anza college and Florida Institute of Technology.
Can’t I get into UPenn SEAS or Columbia with these stats?
I’m also the valedictorian of my class.

Maybe Penn but can’t say about Columbia’s Fu Foundation SEAS as it is one of the most selective colleges for engineering.

you seem like a very well rounded and passionate applicant. you should be very proud of all your accomplishments no matter what, congratulations. overall I think you have very good chances at the aforementioned schools. I am sure you will be pleased with your results! best of luck remember you can do anything you put your mind to.

Thank you dream1111

Wow your grades are so good I’m not even kidding. You don’t do much else though but your grades will definitely pull you through. Plus you did them as “self-study” which top unis really like because it shows that you can take on a rigorous academic course. I think you will get acceptances from about 1/2 of those unis on the list.

Which one SaintYZ?
And thank you.

bump bump…
