After reading a book about Bill Gates, I was impressed by the way he works, thinks and one of his famous quote:”Life is not fair, get used to it”. Business work likes our life, on the way to success, there are many difficulties that people have to overcome and the most important thing is knowing how to get used to it. Thereforce, I very want to be a successful businesswoman like him. Other reason is that I learn math well than any subject at my high school. One day I received an information packet from university of California, Davis, which is very famous for its business major. Inside was a beautiful full color brochure that unfolded into this gorgeous picture of the school. There was dozens of testimonials praising the small student to teacher ratio and wonderful extracurricular activities. After reading it and seeing lots of happy students in this, I want to become one of these smiling students. Then after a long time, my parent want me to abroad in America to enjoy the good education at there and we choose Green River Community College because I believe that this college will help me make my dream, UC, Davis. I am particularly interested in your school because it is very well know for the high school plus program and most of student here transfer to top illustrious university. During high school time, I am very quiet person, only know studying and rarely participated in any activity. But everything have been changed since I studied at Tran Dai Nghia high school. I saw lots of my friend were better than me not only in studying but also activity, then I questioned myself “ How they could arrange time effectively for both of two things.” , because in Vietnam students have to study under very high pressure that make them can not spend time on activity. From that, I tried to participate in every volunteer work, activity with them as I could. First activity I took part in is the singing contest with my class. Although we felt, i was very fun and learnt how to work effectively in a team. On the summer, instead of spending time on vacation, studying like others, I choose doing volunteer work. Consequently, I gained many essential skills and valuable experience for my life. For example, when we visited disable people center, we found them very admirable, pitiful because they can play the flute, earn money by themselves without seeing anything. Besides that, I also joined in bible contest at my church, by learning and understanding thoroughly bible, our team have won the first prize. On the trip to countryside, Long Hai, I had to conduct an outdoor game for younger student. It was the first time, I found it very difficult but with my friend’s help, I did it successfully, had more experience in leadership and especially making new friends. The more I participated in activity, the more I felt more mature, sociable.
Being a Tran Dai Nghia student, I believe that when I study at Green River Community College, I will continue developing all of my ability to study well , join more activities and make my high school more radiant to people. At the first time, I will try to put myself in tune with new environment in America, the country that is famous for many things such as modern technology, strong economy, active and good education; and also make friend and be sociable with everyone. Moreover, I will try my best to achieve my dream, UC, Davis; after finishing studying in U.S. I will find a job to get more experience. And Vietnam, which is my hometown, will be the next stoping station for me because I want to contribute my knowledge and ability as much as I can to it.</p>
