Please critique my UC personal statements!

I would really appreciate it if a seasoned essay-reader could read my personal statements, especially because I did write them informally and in my own writing style. I know that admissions officers want to have a sense of voice from the personal statements and I know that my essays have that. What I'm worried about is that they'll possibly offend any officers and ruin my admissions chances. I've had several English teachers read them and they commented nicely on the essays, but they are English teachers with a sense of humor XD.

Here are the intros to each response.
Prompt 1: Describe the world you come from — for example, your family, community or school — and tell us how your world has shaped your dreams and aspirations.

Among the Vo cousins, it is agreed that if our collective family lives were documented in an MTV-style, Vietnamese 7th Heaven, we’d all be rakin’ in the dough, not having to worry about our single-mother incomes and future massive student debts. We’ve got the material. Every get-together, every Vietnamese New Year, scandals and lies pop up like firecrackers interspersed between the dolling of lucky money and the gambling of said money.

Prompt 2:Tell us about a personal quality, talent, accomplishment, contribution or experience that is important to you. What about this quality or accomplishment makes you proud and how does it relate to the person you are?

Growing up, I was a wallflower. I never fit in with my classmates, almost always being the only Asian girl in a sea of Hispanics and WASPS, feeling like an outsider. Growing up, I had blue metal framed glasses that increased my stalker-vision by 400%. And growing up, my books were my best friends, a constant in a chaotic life.
Because of those factors, I have perspective.

Please comment if you would like to read the essays and I'll send you a PM!

I would be glad to read and critique your essay.

Sent you a PM!

@noratoledo: Wow. 9 posts from 10:47 to 11:15 in multiple forums, all saying the same thing. I guess the graduate program isn’t working out too well if you have to be a shill for essay services (unless, of course, they are your services). If that’s the case, I suggest that you fire your marketing director.
