There is, of course, no legitimate branch of science that enables us to predict the future accurately. Yet the degree of change in the world is so overwhelming and so promising that the future, I believe, is far brighter than anyone has contemplated since the end of the Second World War.

Assignment: Is the world changing for the better?

The world is changing for the better because the human condition has improved. In recent years, there have been great advances in technology that have improved peoples standards of living. The increase in human rights activism also attests to the improvement of humans. In addition, the laws passed have also improved standards of living and international relations.
The technology invented today is far more advanced than anything that was imagined at the end of World War II. The technology in factories has improved employees working conditions. Technology, such as the electric car, has also reduced the carbon footprint, making the world a cleaner place. Easy access to communication as the result of the invention of telephones, computers, and social media has allowed for increased international relations and communication between families. The improvements in technology have led to an easily accessible, safer, and cleaner world.
Through easier interactions, human rights activists have been able to advocate more readily. Today, minorities, such as members of the LGBTQ community, have gained a voice, whereas in the past their existence was not even acknowledged. In addition, richer countries are attempting to assist poorer ones. This era has been filled with activism for others demonstrating the increase in sympathy and care in the world.
Laws also demonstrate an improvement for the general populace. The minimum wage has been raised many times and is now hovering around seven dollars. Laws also regulate many aspects of health, including worker safety and food production. The health and safety of the world today has improved due to the increased care of such issues in government.
Technology, human rights, and politics demonstrate the improvements in the world. Today, the standard of living has increased because of these aspects. People have easier access to each other, and as a result they are able to help each other more than they ever could have done so before.
