Honsetly UM is the dream, I really really really really want to go there. I’m hoping they can look past a rough start to hs and see ive improved a lot. I’m planning on being inducted to my schools NHS beginning of second trimester (right after Thanksgiving) so I’m hoping I can email them and go - “Hey look! I’m working really hard, and am being recognized for it, isn’t that great - and here’s my first trimester grades, I got (hopefully) all A/A-s in this insane courseload!” before they defer me.
oh and im trying to see if i can sit in on a class soon, we’ll see.

1 - my forensics coach, teacher sponsor of the literary magazine, and teacher for H. Creative Writing. She actually let me read the letter, she said i was a good leader so that was good, i dont really know what a good letter looks ike but it didnt seem like AMAZIIING or anything. didn’t really talk about me in the classroom at all because HCW was a bit of a joke and i didnt take it v seriously unfortunately
2- my AP Econ teacher who sponsored MUN team, i have no idea what he said but i hope he talked about my mun leadership and working hard in his class…
–I asked my counselor, who idk very welll at all, to talk about my upward grade trend/maturity, and my contributions to the school’s creative community by painting murals w NAHS and founding the literary magazine. so, idk.
Essays:
Common App: i talked about how i love scifi and how reading it helped me change my worldview by being more curious and outgoing.
Michigan:
Community: talked about taking my dogs to the dog park, and how people there are so different but we all are unified by our dogs, talked about talking with old people who i normally would never be in contact with and getting life advice from them.
EC: said i’d continue to do MUN because it would help me with polisci/public policy/law, and that it combined my love for speaking, politics, and writing, and they have a cool MUN team, and my team went to their hs MUN conference that they hosted and i got to talk to people on the team and they were all really ~smart and cool~
I’m a little anxious because I think I foolishly prioritized turning in app a week or two early over polishing my essays.
