I'm not a CC transfer, but I go to a 4-year and my cumulative gpa is 3.47, which apparently is probably why I got rejected considering the 4-year GPA cutoff was god damn 3.8. I'm trying to appeal on the basis that I had to deal with a death in the family while maintaining my GPA. But I don't know if this will carry any weight with them, any thoughts? I applied as a History major, which is not impacted, and my letter of rec is from a history professor at my 4-year who got his PhD from UCSD in 2004, so I don't know if that matters either.

well to be honest with you i dont think it will work because I went through similar circumstances last year and sent an appeal and still got rejected. But hey to each his own.

where’d you find out the cutoff for 4-year transfers was a 3.8?

thats what a woman in the admissions office said when i called and she told me to forget trying to appeal because i was below the cutoff…so sad. now im trapped here.

wow, i dont think even UCLA had such a demanding cutoff… i barely made it into UCSD then.
what 4 year are you trapped at?
