Is there anything I can do now as a senior to strengthen my ECs? I really want to be considered a qualified applicant for this school as it is my top choice.

bumpppppppppppppppppppp…HELP ME PLEASE

Anyone???

Anyone??? Please offer feedback. :/

I’m not sure whether you should apply early action, but one thing I am sure of: you should not waste your essay space making excuses for your grades. The essay is your chance to shine - you have great ECs that demonstrate leadership. A killer essay can help you a lot.

I’m in a similar situation My GPA is a terrible 3.5, and would be raised a little after first semester, but I will have already applied by then.

However, I have 5 AP scores thus far (four 4s and one 5–all were self-studied) and five SAT subject tests over 700 (780 US History, 760 Italian, 740 French, 800 World History, 780 Literature). Additionally, my SAT scores are 760 (CR), 700 (M), and 740 (W). "

I would be applying for international affairs, and wrote my essay about a poignant experience I had living in a small and very poverty stricken Cambodian village for 3 months and how the experience gave me an entirely new perspective on the world. Of course it’s a little cliche, but what isn’t?

I am also president of my school’s debate team, have done over 250 hours of volunteer work in my community, am a member of MUN, NHS, and the Human Rights Club. Additionally, I am editor of our school’s newspaper.

Does anyone think I stand a chance? Should I schedule an interview?
