Please help! :( Precalculus?! Are my chances ruined..?!

So I am now a senior in high school, about to be applying for colleges. My junior year my only bad grade was a D in both of my semesters in Precalculus. At my school in California there are 2 semesters, meaning first and second half of the school year. All my other grades were As and Bs. Also I was not the only student struggling in that class, many of us barely passed. I even took a summer course to make up the D from my junior year. I really want to get into a good csu, San Jose state, fullerton, San Diego state, etc. my SAT score is 1400 but I will be retaking it again to get a higher score. Are my chance really ruined because of that D?!?! Also a little more background on myself I'm also in various clubs and do community service events.

I have seen various people at my school get into CSUs with a D. I don’t think it will destroy you

I also did really badly in Precalculus in HS. As long as it is your only poor grade and you are able to explain why you received such a low score, you should be fine. Chance me? :wink: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1679965-notre-dame-transfer-chances.html?new=1</a></p>

What is your CSU/UC GPA, see link to calculate:<a href=“Cal State Apply | CSU”>Cal State Apply | CSU;
Repost with your CSU GPA and intended major. You will need to get your SAT up to at least 1700 depending upon your major.
As long as you retook the class and passed, your D should not be a problem.
The CSU’s use an eligibility index (EI) to rank applicants for admission and also establish cutoffs for each major.
To calculate (CSU GPA x 800) + (SAT Critical Reading score + SAT Math Score). For SJSU, SDSU, you want an EI of around 3900+ depending your major. Some majors will lower and some higher.
