I like history, but I'm not planning to major in it. APUSH is not one of those classes that I'd be really bummed out about if I can't fit in my schedule. But at the same, I won't be exuberant if it was on my schedule. Like, I think history is interesting, but I'm not passionate about it, but I don't detest it either, and I'm pretty good at memorizing facts and figures. And given those conditions, I wouldn't hesitate to sign up for APUSH, except for the fact that the application is a bit tedious...(2 DBQs less than 800 words and a 1 page letter describing basically why you want to take APUSH). They are only going to accept about 60 people this year. Quite frankly, I'm not sure I'd like to go through with this, all the DBQs, notes (100 pages a week!), and midterms.
Okay that was kind of a rant for myself...haha sorry...anyway...
If the answer to the following questions are affirmative, then I will do it. If not, I won't and I can laugh my friends preparing for their midterm (LOL just kidding...I'm kind of evil >:) )

So basically, can you answer these questions please?

1) Would I'd have to take APUSH in college anyway if I don't do it in HS?
2) Does taking APUSH have a big weight on admission decisions? Have you heard of any people getting into a top-choice school without APUSH?

Oh, and if I don't take APUSH, I would only have 3 other APs, so I'm not extraordinarily busy or anything.

Thank you for taking the time to read and answer this! :D
