Please help to chance me... I'm nervous!

Why do you have a slew of schools that take fewer than 1 in 7 and then far less selective Occidental, which is up on a hill in the middle of a metropolis? How about a school or two in between in terms of selectivity?

Your standardized tests are decent. But Polo's what will help you into all of those schools.

I'd say I am most 100% sure you'll get into one of those. Harvard likes unique applicants like you. Be expecting an interview from everyone if not an acceptance.

Despite the rigorous ivies you have listed I wouldnt be suprised if you made every school on your list! You have remarkable stats!

Wow, simply amazing. The only blemish is the 31 ACT but who really cares with all that soccer stuff?
You should, on paper, get in to all of the colleges except harvard, since, i hate to say this but, it's harvard. The only thing is that once you reach the top ivies, they sorta are a crapshoot like sam71191 said. Just write great essays, and I'm sure you'll go to a place you love.
Good luck!

Besides the ACT, you're good for all of the schools.

Perhaps your ACT breakdown could explain your score a bit better? Hypothetically, considering you're an international applicant, maybe if you had a lower English or Reading subscore the schools might be a bit more forgiving, which helps your cause.

Doesn't really matter though, you're good for all of those schools.

Hi everyone, thanks for the input and for those I've chanced before, thanks for returning the favor :). For me the only concern is that because I'm an international, the admissions are more than just a lottery because there is a large pool of I applicants but spots are too few (we're talking single digit accepptances at virtually all ivies save for Cornell, perhaps)!

Damaris, I value the advice you have given. I did not mention on this forum that I've also applied to some schools in the UK (because this is an American dominated website) like Edinburgh and UCL and have managed to nick a few acceptances. Those schools fill the void between my first choices and safeties.

Springbok- my ACT breakdown is as follows:
English- 31
Reading- 31
Math- 33
Science- 30
Writing- 11

Any other comments are welcome! Thanks!

Thanks for chancing me! =D

You have wonderful grades and very unique extracurriculars, so I see no reason you shouldn't get into any of these schools. Still, like other people have said, Ivies are very finicky about their selection process - I'd say don't expect to get into all of them, just because of that, but you are definitely qualified for them and probably will get into a big chunk!

And did you actually get into Edinburgh? If so, I'm jealous!! Beautiful school. =P

Thanks sugarplz. Yeah, I managed to get an acceptance from Edinburgh. It is a really lovely school. A friend of mine attends and is in her final year of doing History and loves Scotland!

Of course trying to Chance for Harvard and Yale is like trying to convince someone you can read their palm. I don't see any reason why you schouldn't get in to them all. Excellent Job!

try and get into contact with coaches at the schools. you have outstanding chances.

Ur def going to get into some of those schools for sure but with the ivy its really chance cause there's so many qualified kids. Id feel pretty confident though with those grades.

***** chance me back striker 7**************

wow i would have to say you are in everywhere. the only iffy would be stanford.

wow, you have really nice stats!

Harvard- Reach (it is for everyone)
Stanford- Reach
Yale- Reach
Cornell- Low Reach/In
Dartmouth- Low Reach/In
Pomona- In
Occidental- In

The best of luck!! Chance me? <a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/613653-my-chances-competitive-schools.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/613653-my-chances-competitive-schools.html</a></p>

Dude, i lived in singapore for a while. AWESOMEST COUNTRY EVER, except for the death penalty for weed thing...

but...your stats are really immpressive. I give you a 65% on getting the ivys. It heavily depends on your essays and why your the perfect international student.

ivys are always tough, but i could almost guarantee that you will get into at least three of those schools, and at least one of the ivys (cornell, harvard, stanford) your sat IIs and extracurricular/service help. especially your police job, that will def standout

thanks for chancing me!
well if you dont get into those colleges, i dont know who will. the polo thing sounds SWEET!!

I really don't know much about these schools but i think you'll do good. Can i borrow a few ec's? Lol. Good luck though.

dude, you truly are amazing. Whats your major? I might have overlooked. BTW, you are most certainly in at all!

im jealous, ur in everywhere, y r u nervous!!!lol

<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/627471-chance-sista.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/627471-chance-sista.html</a></p>

It is so easy to be swayed by all this sweet talk. You should contact the polo coaches for these colleges directly to discuss your situation. If there aren't coaches or collegiate advisors for the team, contact the team captain. Your stats aren't that terrific: you are number one in a small pond, and you have a 31 ACT. Many applicants have triple 800 SAT Subject Tests. It is all about your polo strength, so go to the source.
