Hello,

I just need a tiny advice.

Should I superscore, or send the dec scores only?

Oct SAT: 520Cr, 580W, 690 Math
Dec SAT: 600CR, 670W, 670 Math

Thanks in advance! :)

Hello,

Should I superscore, or send the dec scores only?

I think it depends on the average range of the colleges you’re applying to. If the 670 math is say in the middle 50% of scores but 690 is not, then I would superscore. However, if both 670 and 690 are in the middle 50% of scores I’m not sure it would be worth it to superscore for 20 extra points.

Hope that helps! :)

I think it also depends on what you want to major in. If you want to go for something like engineering or math, I would super-score so colleges see the higher score. If you want to go for something like English, I’m not sure I would bother.

@ElvenRanger: I’ve got 5 questions wrong in both my Math sections. But the scores are not the same. I guess the Dec Math curve was a little harsh. Will this help? Do they look at the scores or the number of right and wrong questions?

@samcmanus: I’m going for a Math major (maybe Engineering). So superscore or not?

It’s kind of urgent guys. I just have one day to decide.
Thanks a lot again!

Ok, then I think you should superscore. Most people tell me colleges tend to look only at the scores first (have you sent them your sat scores?) but I wouldn’t know.
Also, looking at samcmanus’s tips, I think you should as well. Thousands of applicants will be applying so you should try to get as close to the top of the pool as possible.
Good luck! :)

Okay, I’ll send both the scores. Thank you both for the suggestions. (y)
