Hi, I am currently a freshman nursing student at Adelphi University. The school has a good nursing program, but I absolutely hate everything else. I don’t like the people and it is not the college experience I want. I always dreamed of going to a really big school and I think I would like to join a sorority. I want to transfer but it seems I don’t have many options as a nursing student. I have been thinking of Penn State but I now have read that you must join at the start of the four year program. I also see that the last 2 years are not spent at the main campus, and this is one of the reasons I want to transfer so I would like to be at the main campus. When applying to schools last year I applied to Binghamton and got into the school but not the nursing program, I will probably apply again this year. I know this may seem silly that I just want to transfer for the feel of the school, but every day I am unhappy and it really distracts me from my studies because all I do is try to find schools that I can go to. I would really appreciate some suggestions! Thank you
What type of feel of the campus are you seeking? If it is loads of school spirit and enthusiasm for the school, you are unlikely to find that at Binghamton either. Did you spend time on the Binghamton campus when you originally applied? You will find that spirit at Penn State, Michigan, West Virginia, Syracuse, Ct, Ohio State and many other schools. But not Binghamton. If the reason you hate Adelphi is that it lacks school spirit then Binghamton would be a very odd choice.
