Hey, I'm a senior in New York and I absolutely love McGill-- it's my first choice.

But I was wondering if anyone would know my chances of getting in with a 3.3 GPA (not very high because I switched schools after 9th grade and my grades dropped somewhat with the adjustments)

SAT scores- 690(w) 680(cr) 590(m)...retaking the SATs in October to get my math score up
SATII Literature- 650...taking a second SAT II in November

I dont have any APs but I have taken honors courses through out high school. (My school only offers a couple APs)

Also, would it lower my chances greatly if a couple other people (who have better GPAs and SAT scores) from my school are also applying?

I am not really sure if you would be a candidate or not. My son's GPA and SAT were higher but I do not know the cutoff point.
HOWEVER-the application for McGill is so easy to fill out. It is online. No essays, no ECS-so, just do it and see what happens.
It is a great school-good luck to you.

anastarr: I agree with brooklynmom. McGill would not be a safety school for you, but why not try? Another thought that is often ignored is to look at Concordia University which is also downtown in Montreal, very near McGill and is, in fact, even larger than McGill in the number of students, although many commute. It is somewhat easier to get accepted as an international student and if you get excellent grades you can apply to transfer to McGill. Concordia has top flight film and creative writing programs and is an English university.
