I was accepted to all 4 academies with the exception of the Coast Guard, because I did not apply. I received both a Presidential nomination and a congressional nomination to USNA. I got my acceptance letter to USNA the first week of November, and sent in all my paperwork before December. I am a future cadet for the class of 2012. Unfortunately this last week I received news from the ACT board about how my ACT scores are under questioned and I might need to take the test over again. USAFA has my SAT score which is 590 Math and 570 Verbal, but it was my ACT score that more than likely got me in with a 27 Composite. If I take the test and score below 3 points from the 27 Composite, the ACT board will cancel my previous score of 27. The Academy will more thank likely hear about it, but will they drop me from the entering class. Anything would help me greatly.

Do you know why your results are in question?

Could it be because of behavior like claiming on the West Point board you said 'yes' to USMA, and on this board you indicate you said 'yes' to USNA?

Yea it was a major difference. My first time I didn't really study and got a 21, the second time; I cared and got a 27. They basically said, I have to take the test again, and if I score below three points from my 27 Composite, they will drop my 27 Composite score. The 27 Composite score was the reason why I got in the Academy not my 590 math and 570 verbal. What I am afraid of is that the Academy will drop me out of the potential 2012 class, because I take the test again and make a 23 composite score. Since the 23 composite score is less than the necessary 3 point range to keep the original 27 composite, they will drop the 27 composite score. Do you think the Academy will drop me, after 3 months of being on their list for the class of 2012.

Originally, I got in USAFA, but I want to get everyone’s opinion from all the academies. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Are you an athlete as well? For you to be accepted into all the academies so early is quite the feat; I am thinking there is more to you than just your "27" as that is not nearly as high as some of the ones we see here.

I'm sorry, but I have a hard time believing you got accepted to 4 service academies with such below-average test scores. Even a 27 on the ACT is only an 1830 on the SAT. So unless you are captain of every single sports team/EC at your school plus #1 in your class...

In addition, your paranoia about getting a low score on the ACT makes me wonder about a couple of things. For a test score to drop around 200 points on the SAT scale (and for a student to worry about it) generally indicates a lack of knowledge that was once there. In fact, it may indicate the student knows they cannot do it again. I'm not positive you've cheated on them, but it certainly looks like it, especially if you do not want to retake them and your scores are under review.

To top it off, you've posted on the FOUR different boards here for each academy, changing your story each time:

Your veracity is highly questionable. Lying will get you NOWHERE in the military.

Its kind of funny, beings how USNA doesn't have cadets, they are called Midshipman. I was kind of supsicious when I saw that. I second what Simayan said.

well lets take this from a different perspective-

assuming hsivero, you are giving us factual information, and that you have 1. been accepted to 4 academies, 2. you scored 27 on the ACT, and 3. your scores are in question and need to be retaken, then the best suggestion I could offer is to contact the admissions office at said schools and try to get an answer to your question as to "if" you will need to retake the exam in question.

As an aside, I will agree the grades posted- even with an ACT of 27, seem below what usually garners an appointment- but there are exceptions made. If you were an athlete with these grades I would think an offer of NAPS would have been on the table, so my guess is that is not the case- however if it is true that 4 academies have made an offer, perhaps it is.....but would be surprised if NAPS is still not the option offered.

As already posted on the USMMA site. How did you get a Presidential Nomination to USMMA? Their nomination information on the web site states that, by law, there are no Presidential Nominations. Just asking.

For USNA, you do not get your "acceptance" before you submit your paperwork. Although some very highly qualified candidates may receive an LOA and an appointment based on a Pres nom as early as you claim, it is extremely rare, especially given the scores you mentioned which would generally not qualify you as an official candidate, let alone get you an LOA or an "acceptance" that early.

Could you explain what "under questioned" means? I've never heard of ACT/SAT entities requesting someone retake an exam. If there were a national error, it would have made the news. This makes me think that there is a problem with your scores in particular. Why would that be?
