Please review my weekly study routine for this year

Howdy y’all! I’m soon going to be a freshman, and I’ve decided to really work hard every year so I can become a valedictorian by the time I finish high school haha. I’m gonna accomplish this by studying every day unlike last year in 8th grade when I only studied for tests and quizzes but did extremely good either way. I’d be grateful if y’all could please look at my weekly routine on this excel document you can view below, and tell me what you think of it… is it too much? too little? should I study on Saturday like I plan to? Anyways, thanks in advance.

Wow, this is great! All critiques aside, I just want to say that the mere fact that you took the time to do this is something I really respect. I’m seven years older than you (roughly) and I could never be self-disciplined enough to even put something like this together. So bravo!

You get up really early…in all fairness I get up around that time too, and your bedtime seems reasonable to me. But if you’re not used to getting up so early I would consider adjusting it.

The breaks are a teeny bit short in my opinion; maybe go for ten minutes instead of five, but that’s just my preference.

As for studying on Saturdays…again, if you’re not used to doing that then maybe you should start off with a half day, and work your way up to a full day eventually? It’s good that you’re taking Sundays to rest though.

Hope this all helps. Best of luck!!

You certainly are setting yourself up for success by being so meticulous. My one critique is that you aren’t going to be getting eight hours of sleep with this. I personally need 9 hours to feel fully rested, but maybe that’s just me.

Having just finished my freshman year, I can tell you that I barely studied and made straight A’s. I highly doubt that as a freshman you will need to study that much on weekdays, and probably won’t need to at all on the weekends (unless you have a test or something on Monday). I discourage you from studying all day on Saturdays, it seems pointless and drab. Use your weekends to pursue something that you enjoy. Don’t spend all your time studying so that you miss out on extracurriculars.

I agree with Shanban. I was a freshman last year and I barely studied and got all A’s. I admire your work ethic, but freshman year isn’t that hard, you probably don’t need to be studying that much.

Yeah, that’s really not necessary. Unstructure yourself. Surprise yourself. It’s better to be happy than valedictorian.

I appreciate the effort. I’ve never been able to schedule myself like that.

Seriously though, give yourself time to make friends, get a job, be introspective, nap, etc., etc.

(Also, why no time devoted to hygiene? Meh, that’s a weird question.)

This is way too organized and is going to stress you out.

I think you’re neat for going through all this trouble, but my honest advice is to give yourself lots of free time and avoid doing nothing.
Some of the coolest things I’ve learned have been from cruising Wikipedia, or reading AoPS stuff, or watching Khan Academy vids while my friend draws cartoons at the library. Your classes may or may not demand a lot of you, so you should only focus so deeply on the ones commanding your interest.

my addition would be some time tucked away for personal projects 'n stuff.

it’s great that you’re thinking ahead & have a plan but all this is really not necessary! trust me, when you actually begin your high school career life will not be as planned and structured as this, things will pop up, etc. freshman year is pretty easy, i took all honors and had 2 hours of softball practice after school and I still barely needed to try extra hard. spend some time doing extracurriculars and community service- you’re more than just numbers and a schedule, try to explore your interests. its gonna be impossible to stick to this, im getting stressed out just thinking about it!!
