Am I reading the following link correctly in that the only way to validate the Plebe Govt and Constitutional Development course is to score a 5 on the AP Government class?

yes your are usna69

Forgive me for posting over here on the "Navy" side -

just to be clear - Would the proper course & exam would be AP US Government and Politics as opposed to AP Comparative Gov't and Politics?
It is a little confusing. There is no "AP American Government" course, but I think the "Comparative Gov't" exam covers other nationalities as well.

I have no idea. Just trying to get some recent actual updates and an answer over the weekend. I know plebes do validate the course and I know the above link has some flaws. And the AP courses don't really lend themselves to the USNA courseload. And my impression before checking the link was that USNA offered their own validation only for this particular course. Confusing enough??

Yes there is a AP Us Government Course: U.S. Government & Politics

AP: U.S. Government & Politics

From Class of 2010, The only way to validate the course was through the AP Exam. Now if you had the course in college, I think they look at transcripts and do an interview but not totally sure. They did not give a US Gov't validation exam during plebe summer, at least not 2 years ago.

At our high school, the AP US Government class also covers Comparative Government during the last quarter of the year. Students enrolled in AP Gov have the option of taking both AP exams at the end of the year.

^^^^^
Yes - they need just make sure they take the correct test.

You can also try and validate courses if your son/daughter had college credits received from a previously attended university/college. They would need to get a hold of their syllabi for the classes they want to try and validate and then talk to the heads of the departments for those respective classes.
