pleeease chance me and friend

UCF is my friend and my DREAM school. Captain vasrity cheerleaders with LOADED extracarriculars. From PA.

My GPA = 3.9
SAT = 1100 / 1670
ACT = taken , awaiting score
p.s. my essay was awesome lol

Friend's GPA = 3.8
SAT = 850 / 1200
ACT = taken , awaiting score
p.s. her essay also kicked butt

please be honest .. <3

lol wow you sound like me, varsity cheer & from pa. UCF is also my dream school, i’ve been obsessed for over a year now.

you seem like a really good match for summer term. your GPA outweighs the average test scores for summer.

your friend’s GPA is good too, but will not make up for a 1200 SAT. I don’t think she will make it in if she doesn’t improve on that drastically.

Good luck :slight_smile: :slight_smile: Apply ASAP and for summer if you really want to maximize your chances for admission.

do i have to apply seperately for summer

on the application it asks what term you’re applying for and the options are Fall 2012, Summer 2012, and Spring

retake retake retake the sat/act

Since you requested honesty -
I have a question for you first -
How did you score an 850 on your SAT ?
You only averaged 425 on each section ?
Just randomly guessing should get you an 800
on your SAT !
Is it possible that you misprinted your real SAT score ?
Also, you are OUT OF STATE ???
If the listed SAT score is correct, then your friend has a ZERO
percent possibly for acceptance !
You should also retake the SAT test, as your chances are not much better, Sorry- Good Luck !
Also, tell your friend that a total SAT composite score of 1200
puts her @ the 13 Percentile level.

^ LOL

I saw your name before opening this thread and i already knew what was coming.

GA * not pa . and i guess we’ll see the new scores .

Please learn how to differentiate between being ‘honest’ and just straight up rude. Just saying.

SOOOOOO if a sick, weak, distraught patient seeks advise from his physician reference chest pain and since the physicians feels sorry for him and tells him that everything is great and sends him home only to die from a massive heart attack… do you see where I am going with this…

My d is captain of her her hs cheer teaming ambler PA. What high school As21608?

Actually, that isn’t an accurate comparison at all. I think you lack a filter in your head, because anything you think, you atomatically spit out. Are you on an admissions board? No, you aren’t, so to say that someone stands no chance is well, excuse my language, but a dick move. Considering you haven’t even been accepted yet, I suggest not replying to these threads. No one expects even a halfway accurate answer from you.

ahhahahaha, yeah, I’m not even gonna waste my time. I forgot I was talking to a wall.

It may come off as mean but UF’s minimum for application is a 1300 total… and for ucf a placement test is required if you score under 500 in any section. I know as my friend got in last year barely because he had 700+ in critical reading and writing. he fell asleep for the math portion and had to take the entrance exam upon admission.

I concur with you 100 %. Since all public schools in Florida receive 1000’s of applications each year naturally the admissions committee at each school needs to set a minimum baseline to eliminate those candidate that present the lowest possibility of success at their school. That being said, as you pointed out, UCF has set a minimum SAT score or the applicant will be immediately declined without an improve SAT score. What some people fail to understand here is that the advise I gave the original poster was that with her present stats, she has no possibility of admissions to UCF “UNLESS” she improves her scores which is the most honest response someone here can give her.

council rock! :slight_smile: how about you?

@cnmpsyd

Do you have any sources or proof for your claims? I do not remember there ever being a minimum requirement for test scores or GPA with UCF. As for UF, I can only think of their 2.5 GPA minimum requirement. The only public Florida school other than UF that I can think of, at the moment, with a minimum requirement for test scores is FSU. They require at least a 500 in each section of the SAT or a 21 or above in ACT Math & Writing and a 22 or above on ACT Reading.

Also, didn’t someone someone on these forums recently get accepted to UCF with a 24 ACT?

@sifanatic

UF requires a 1330 minimum SAT score with Critical Reading, Math, AND Writing combined; each section should be at least a 440 or above.

@seni0r

I, myself, think you have a good shot at attending UCF. You have a great GPA, good test scores, and if you have written a good essay (or I should say, “essays” :P), then you should be fine. As for your friend, they must retake the SAT or ACT and score better; the GPA, on the other hand, is good.

^Thank god for some rational words.

yes i was accepted with a 24:)

i have a 24! But only a 3.3 ucf gpa. and at this rate i wont hear back for over a month seeing as it has already been a month and no transcripts have been processed after 3 times of sending them
