If I apply to PLME, are the admission processes separate? I mean, does the PLME officers see my regular Brown app and the Brown officers my PLME app?

I heard that the PLME officers DO see the Brown app..dont know about the 2nd half though

lol just make everything good and you don't have to worry about that ;)

How common is it for people rejected from PLME to be accepted into normal Brown undergad? I know it can happen... how often does it happen though?

Your application gets read for Brown admissions and then for PLME admissions and they make two decisions, one for Brown and one for PLME. Since your application is all in one place, any admissions officer (PLME or not) can see the entire thing.

As for getting rejected from PLME but getting into Brown, I think it's as common as any other person getting into Brown. I think a good number of them go to other combined med programs though, if that's really what they're looking for. A really good friend of mine didn't get into PLME but now she's doing pre-med at Brown. I don't think getting rejected from PLME makes it harder for you to get into Brown, if that's what you're worried about.

My understanding is that you actually have to be accepted by brown undergrad to have your application reviewed by the PLME committee. So if the plme people saw your app at all early that means you were accepted to brown college early, regardless of what the plme ppl ultimately decided. I'd guess the college's decision more or less holds for regular.

I was rejected from PLME and accepted into normal Brown undergrad. I am attending Brown, and I love it so much.

the view book said:
in 2004-2005 1400 ppl applied to PLME. 103 were accepted to PLME, 104 accepted to reg brown. of that, 63 matriculated to PLME and 64 matriculated to reg brown.

mmk.

I was also rejected PLME and accepted regular undergrad. It happens, as the stats ^^ show.
