plme ed applications are done being read
unofficial numbers: < 5% accepted (not sure how many deferred but i’m sure it is several times the amount accepted early so don’t be disheartened if you fall into this group)
best of luck to everyone applying

do u know how many people applied and were accepted?

how do you know they are done being read?

I pmed him and said 15 out of 318 were accepted...NOT COOL

lol 5%

good luck PLME'ers!

yea that's kinda weird considering the ED % last year was around 7.5% and 20 people were accepted...hmmm..does this mean that the applicant pool this time around wasn't as strong or that Brown is trying to decrease the number of seats for PLME?

I doubt it's the latter, as Brown's actually trying to increase the size of its medical school, and I think I read somewhere that PLME was going to stay about the same.

Dcircle, how do you know?

blargh, those are pretty dismal numbers.

ah, well. best of luck to everyone (including me)!

conversations with the application readers. i also learned that despite everyone's perception, test scores truly aren't that important. it certainly helped students who did outstanding on the SATs but it didn't hurt students who didn't. the folks i talked to emphasized that since all of the applicants were extremely qualified, they were really looking for students who were good fits for the PLME program. they also said that if you end up deferred, you are still very much in the running since they accepted so few (so don't be discouraged!)

....i'm already discouraged :( :'(....since there will be so many more people applying regular decision...ah well, nothing i can do now
