How heavily does Brown weight SAT in the PLME process…?

Is there a cut-off?

there's no such thing as a "cut-off", they've accepted ppl with a 1000 SAT score (on the 1600 scale), but last year's SAT average score was a 2197 and average ACT was a 31.

Of course, scores are important, but if you're in their average range, it all depends on how well your essays tell them just how much you want to be a doctor, and how well your ECs show that as well.

1000? Where did you get that information?

I'm having trouble finding their range......it's different in two places....do you know what it is?

why does it matter? If you are good enough to apply for an ivy, your sat scores are within that range. The essays are far more important.

schrizto, I got that info from Brown Admission Officer Elisha Anderson when he came to visit down here in South CArolina.

It matters cuz I'm just wondering?! I'm wondering if PLME is different than just applying to Brown?! geez

score-wise, not really. But in pure competitiveness of essays, extracurriculars, demonstrative interest, YES. The numbers don't lie, 13.8% acceptance rate into the college, 5.5% acceptance rate into PLME.

but they will look at the whole package and not throw me out and not even interview cuz of sat?

How bad are your sats...? A number will help.

If you really want to go to PLME, why not apply? What's the worst that could happen, getting a rejection letter?

i am applying hahah regardless of what y'all say im' applying. I'm just curious

I have a 2080 sat score, 1380 cr/m

not worried about grades, ec's, etc.

your SAT scores are not that bad, but you should have tried ACT, since the ACT range is much more forgiving. Just make sure you have very good ECs and EXCELLENT essays, oh yea and apply ED.

every applicant is given an alumni interview unless you attend a prep school that they do not interview the applicants at. I have been doing alumni interviewing for Brown for over twenty years.
