Point Park

Congratulations to your son, MICHAELSMOM. Now put up your feet and relax!!

michaelsmom, how quickly after the audition did you hear?

Joining in the chorus here (though I can't sing!) and offering congrats on your son's acceptance and moreover, that he found his match and he is DONE! Whoa....this is early.....what a relief, enjoy!
Susan

Michaelsmom - wonderful!!! I know it was his first choice school. So happy it worked out so well for you all. I'm going to make sure it gets on the acceptance list.

To those of you who asked, I'm pretty sure Michaelsmom and S went to the audition in November, so this it quick!

I also agree that they have nice scholarships.

Oh geez, I was there in November too (haha wow, like 2 weeks ago...?!) Ohhh the anticipation!

Congrats!:)

We heard from someone we met at our audition that some people will not hear results until the spring. Maybe that was also posted, I can't remember.

Michaelsmom - Congrats to Michael!

Way to go! We're so happy for you and your son. Guess the holidays will be extra special for all of you this year! As Susan said, relax and enjoy and don't forget to keep us posted when he lands there in September!

Thanks! I didn't realize how much of a relief it actually was until I re-read the letter! His audition was Nov. 12th and we heard on Nov. 29th. But, when I congratulated him I started crying realizing my "job" is almost finished as he also reaches his 18th birthday. Gonna miss him like crazy! Might have to buy a travel trailer so I can visit him more often!

Another possible Point Park timeline: my D auditioned at the first audition in 2004, was deferred, had a chance to re-audition, decided not to, and got a rejection letter finally in April. It was her very first college audition.

Is PPU considered to give a liberal arts education to those in the BFA MT program?

Yes, Point Park has liberal arts requirements as part of the BFA degree.

For anyone needing accomodations in PA during the month of January, this site is offerering 2 nights for the price of one at select hotels, might come in handy if the weather gets bad.

It is a happy time in our household. My D just received her acceptance letter from Point Park. (and she just auditioned on Friday). I have to admit we have been very impressed with the school. The truth is until we started our search for MT schools we had not heard of PP and we haved lived in the Western PA area on and off for the last 15 years. She still has several more auditions and has not been turned down from any other school where she has auditioned, so she has not made a decision yet, but she is very excited to be accepted to PP.

It is going to be a Happy Christmas in our home.

Congratulations to your daughter! That's great news. No matter what else happens on the other schools, she knows she is going somewhere next year and somewhere she likes! Enjoy celebrating.

Did anyone recieve a presidential scholarship letter in the mail today?

Yes, we also received the Presidential Scholarship letter. Scheduled for interviews on January 20th, but we have a conflict. We have an audition scheduled at another University for the 20th.

That's interesting, my D's is scheduled for the 21st & we have that same conflict. Wonder if we could switch dates? That means they may have even more dates?

amy o'connell

What program were you accepted to? I guess congratulations are in order :)

I'm not sure if I got in for MT yet. They sent me a letter saying I would find out before April 1st...I also have another audition scheduled that weekend on the 21st, and I'm hoping to find out if I get into the program soon so I'll know what to do about changing my audition..
