Political/History Programs

Obviously it's early, but are there any political/government/history based summer programs a rising sophomore can get into?

Try summer courses at Georgetown, Johns Hopkins, Brown etc. It will get expensive though. The best programs are really for juniors and seniors. I’ve also heard of something called the Junior Statesmen program.

But really IMO you’d be better off staying home and getting a job or internship for your local representative or on a campaign and at the same time taking courses in history and government at a local college. You’ll save a pile of money that you can use for a really good program later and colleges would probably prefer this anyway. A lot of the expensive programs abroad or on college campuses are not very selective and don’t give you the chance to contribute anything.

I applaud you for starting so early, BTW. I wasted the summer before my sophomore year.
