So I've heard that people who earn a B.A. in political science are top candidates for admission into MBA programs. Does anyone know anything about this? I ask because I am a political science major who is considering an MBA.

your major doesn't matter. A good gpa and GMAT do. WE more important than anything else.

You heard wrong. As said above by Wildflower, your major matters little. What really matters is the quality of work experience you have, and to a lesser extent, your grades and your GMAT score. A poli-sci grad who gets a great job that allows him to obtain strong management experience is a strong candidate. A poli-sci job who ends up stocking shelves at the mall will be a poor candidate. Don't laugh. I actually know one poli-sci graduate who is doing this.

On an interview, I was told that hard science, engineering and math majors are looked upon in a good light by MBA ad coms.
