Political Science Major?

I checked the majors at CAS and it seems they have "Politics."

Is this the same as Political Science/Government?

If not, which school does offer a Poly Sci major?

Also- are GSP students allowed school housing/dorms?

Forgot to ask- what are the NYU ED rules? If you are denied ED, can you still apply as a regular decision applicant?

cas offers politics which is basically same as political science. and if you are denied ed, you can't apply in regular round. my advice for you is apply regular and you may have a better financial aids package.

GSP students are just like any other students, so yes, they are 'allowed' housing.

hahah i like the previous note on GSP. i just want to add that i did not really enjoy the way NYU appraoches politics. they are more quantatively based (using game theory etc) than say looking at historical examples (qualitive). i took intl politics and the course was very below what i expected.

So- if a student chooses to Major in Politics, it's not the same as the typical class where you're studying Aristotle and learning about Oligarchies (or whatever)?

zangetsu- I was told not to major in political science unless I knew that the professors in the school were reliable/knew what they were doing. That being said, do you think it's worth majoring in politics there?
