I got in! Wow- sounds great!

Facebook group time? :)

no word hear.
does that mean D didn’t get in?

1sttimemom: Who knows? I got my email at 12:35 on Monday afternoon, but maybe Kelts didn’t send out all of the emails at once. Tell your daughter to contact him. If she went to the trouble to send in an application, I don’t think it’s too much to ask Kelts about her status. Plus, the few times I’ve emailed him, he always gets back to me within an hour or two, so I say email him and ask.

will do.
and congratulations! :)

No luck so far? “S” doesn’t want to “bother” professor Kelts. Does anyone know if he’s completed his selection process and notification. It seems the e-mails came out yesterday throughout the day - suggesting he’s notifying as he reviews the apps.

Thanks.

Anybody out there? Is this a done deal for selection???

As far as I know, people are still being added to the program. I’ve talked to a lot of kids that just go accepted yesterday.

no word yet here.

I think he is going to take this entire week to fill all 32 spots. I got my notification on Monday - and I had the option to reject (obviously didn’t)…

For everybody who is still waiting: Keep the hope and don’t be afraid to contact Prof. Kelts!

Per Housing - Professor Kelts is still reviewing Apps. He will notify sometime next week. This is per his e-mail to housing yesterday. Apparently, there a significant amount of e-mails asking about app status. If housing would have neen more upfront about the timing of all of this - that probably wouldn’t have happened.

The orginal e-mail said May 14 was the notification date - that was only 1 day after housing closed. Of course it was extended to this past Sunday. I new there was no way he could review all those apps that soon.

Will hold out hope for all pending.

Also, there are 64 slots this year, not 32. So, maybe some better odds. You can verify by checking GWEB. There 2 sections of PSC011 - 32 each.

CJ Madison: Having 64 slots this year would be great, but I’m pretty positive it isn’t true. I asked Kelts how many people were going to be in the program this year when I replied to the email he sent on Monday, and he told me 32.

Obviously Professor Kelts is more reliable. I was going by the sections for PSC 011 on the schedule of classes for Fall 2010 - it lists 2 sections, each as having 32 students each. Maybe he uses the 2 sections as options for the 32 students based on what he thinks best for schedules. I hear he personally arranges for the students selected to be placed in to those sections himself.

I would obviously believe him though - since it’s his course. I was hopeful for the 64, but alas I guess not.

Thanks for the update and sorry for the false hopes.

CJ

I could be wrong-- I haven’t looked at the schedule-- but from the email, it sounds like all of us are going to be taking PSC 011 in the fall and PSC012 in the spring together. There are going to be two different sections of UW20 set aside for P&V so that we can fulfill writing requirements for UW20 and P&V at one time, though.

Sounds good. I hope my “S” gets to join you guys.

There are only 16 students per section of P&V. When S took it 2 years ago, there was only 1 section so only 16 kids got to take it then. They increased it to 2 sections last year.

BY THE WAY: PLEASE DON’T FORGET…

PROF. KELTS SENDS NOTIFICATIONS TO YOUR GWU EMAIL…

For example, I applied by sending my app through my personal GMail…the notification was went to my GWU email (which luckily I have linked to my GMail)…

So if anybody hasn’t checked their GWMail over the past week…DO IT! It may be in there :)

Based on the acceptance e-mail, I think that there might be a lecture section of 32 on Mondays and Wednesdays which breaks into two discussion sections of 16 on Fridays. Not 100% sure about that, though.

CJ Madison–when I look at the schedule of classes all I see is what is open or closed, where it is located, the times, etc. Where do you see how many spots are in each section of a class? I can’t see that anywhere. Thanks!

saf - my “S” checked the actual courses like if your were registering on GWEB (not the Schedule of classes). Sign into to GWEB, go to class registration. You can’t actually register, obviously, due to CI holds, but you can go to class registration and search for course to add. Put in PSC 011 and you will see the 2 sections and the # of slots available -it says 32 each section.

However, as per above posts, Prof. Kelts said only 32 total.
