Hey I had a thread like this..
Nay natural for the most part, but I think a little bit of lip gloss and mascara is ok

Nay
Female

Yay

Some girls can look hot with a bit of makeup. just like, concealer, lipgloss and light mascara. It takes a lot of practice though. Many girls just dump foundation everywhere and they look horrible. And some girls who put on nothing look a bit frazzled too..

Female, mostly nay.

Lip gloss (more men than women develop lip cancer) and some concealer is it for me - and dressing up involves lipstick and maybe mascara. I don't understand the whole foundation thing.

Quick rant - older women (like 30s and 40s) who wear a ton of eye makeup look horrible! What are they thinking? It makes their eyes look small and just highlights every wrinkle. Ugh.

I can go either way. Most of the girls at my school do not know how to use makeup to their best advantage, and they just end up looking plastic/whorish. Caking on tons of foundation and putting on waaaayy too much black eye makeup are the two most common mistakes.

That being said, natural-looking makeup truly can make you look prettier. the key is to not overdo it--if someone is looking at you and all they can see is the makeup, that is NOT a good thing. I generally just go with mascara and lip gloss. I'll brush on powder to even out my skin tone when I break out, and if I go out I'll wear eyeshadow, but it's never overpowering.

So...yay with reservations. (i.e. yay if everyone knew how to wear makeup properly)
female

definitely yes.

if properly used, makeup can greatly improve your appearance.

yay. i agree with jf215

Nay. All the way. I don't touch the stuff unless we need a family portrait and my mother ties me down to a chair with those elastic hooks for holding down car trunks to do it for me.

Female, BTW

tkm I'm the same way! You should of seen me for my senior pictures. I have a really pro-make up family, and they were like Stacey BE STILL! :p

Nay... because I'm a lazy mofo, and foundation gives me spots.

Ok...I'm updating the tally...
Nay: 13
Yay: 10

including my vote for yay.

Nay

I think it puts too much of an emphasis on external enrichment rather than internal (or mental) enrichment.

Nay all the way (female)

It just takes up too much time that could be spent doing something productive

Nay: 15
Yay: 10

Yay for Nay!

Nay. Obviously it can be nice and it should be used now and then, but you want to see a girl without make-up first. Otherwise there could be an unpleasant surprise.

haha aim 78...like when celebrities go out in public without makeup..they look abysmal

lol I'd rather have guys see me without makeup, so there aren't any surprises..my skin is pretty blemish free anyways

Nay: 17
Yay: 10

Ick, did you see Britney Spears when her leg was broken, and her hair was all straggly? It's sad on what brittle shallowness her fame rests.

Isn't Britney Spears having twins or something?

Don't know. I don't keep up. Is she still married? Was she ever married? Is she still blond? Singing? Alive? I am so out of the loop.

Yay, because the girls I know do know how to apply it correctly and not look like a common street hooker or Mimi from The Drew Carey Show.

Nay: 17
Yay: 11.
