Anyone who is currently a Poly Sci major, i have a few questions for you:

How difficult are the courses in general, I KNOW this is speculation and i dont wanna a zillion posts telling me that kthanks.

Anyone know anything about the intro to internship program 2999?

How writing intensive are the courses i.e: usually 1 paper, 2?

How are the profs and are you happy in the program?

Thanks for any/all advice i appreicate it.

I was a Poli Sci major.

Difficulty is subjective. It depends on the course, instructor, and what you put into it.

Nope.

Again depends on the class. I had everything from a series of 3 pagers to just one 24 pager.

I loved almost all of them. There was only one class that I really wasn't too fond of, but he was a visiting professor.

I'm a poli sci major.

Depends on the class. I took a course on the Politics of Southeastern Asia with a comparative perspective which was very difficult. My other classes haven't been too bad. Lots of reading however.

Nope

Mostly lots of reading with 1-2 papers and a mid-term/final. However, I took Contemporary Political Issues this semester and I had to write SEVEN 4-5 page papers. The upshot is that there's no exams.

I've enjoyed all of them! The profs are the BEST -- worldclass. You can go to their office hours and they'll be happy to help you with anything. The GSIs (graduate student instructors) in the poli sci dept. do a great job as well.

just fyi...its polisci, not polysci or poly sci. It seems small and stupid, but my 160 gsi would make fun of people who referred to the department as the dept or many sciences rather than the dept of political science.

polisci O:-)
